Holiday Jams Canning Class at Chilhowie Library

On Saturday, November 15th, we are offering a ~Holiday Jams Canning Class~ in conjunction with Virginia Cooperative Extension. Andrea Haubner will be at the library guiding folks through the process of creating three different types of jams that you can enjoy or use as gifts during the upcoming holiday season. She will cover water bath canning techniques for carrot cake jam, chocolate cherry jam, as well as cranberry, orange, pear jam. Space is limited and registration is required. Ribbon Cutting & Public Open House for the Makery

Ribbon Cutting & Public Open House for the Makery

We are excited to announce that the ribbon cutting ceremony and public open house for our new library makerspace will be on Monday evening, December 1st from 6:00-7:00pm. Join us for a tour of the new library "Makery" where equipment such as 3-D printers and scanners, a laser engraver, embroidery machine and more will be on display. You will be able to learn about this new facility and register for upcoming training classes. There will also be refreshments provided by the Friends of Chilhowie Library and live music by the "Merry Strings" following the ribbon cutting. Come out and learn more about all the exciting creative opportunities we have coming soon for the community!
